Lonesome Valley
“LONESOME VALLEY”
Folk music has had a way of permeating our culture for hundreds of years. It’s survival, author usually unknown, has not diminished its acceptance or lessened its impact. The following is an example.
Jesus walked the lonesome valley,
He had to walk it by Himself.
Nobody else could walk it for Him.
He had to walk it by Himself.
You hast to walk the lonesome valley,
You hast to walk it by youself,
Nobody else can walk it fo’ you,
You hast to walk it fo’ youself.
The faithful Christian is not alone in that walk. In David’s words, we sing, “yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.”
