The Gospel Meeting
November 7-10, 2021
Our Gospel meeting with Mark Russell from the Valparaiso Church of Christ starts a week from today. We will have six lessons presented from the Word of God. Our meeting will begin on Sunday and run through Wednesday evening. It has been two years since we have had a Gospel Meeting due to the CO-VID virus. We need to put everything else aside and be here to support each other and listen to God’s Word. It is another opportunity to realize the importance of the Gospel of Christ to the world.
In Romans 1:16-17 we read, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
The Gospel is worth sharing. From the very beginning, Christ intended for man to take the Gospel to the world that was lost in sin. A Gospel meeting provides us with the opportunity to share the Good News with those of the world.
From the verse in Romans 1 we know the following:
The POWER of the Gospel is the POWER of God.
The PURPOSE of the Gospel is to SAVE.
The PLAN of the Gospel is for EVERYONE.
The PLEDGE of the Gospel is to Jews first and then to Gentiles.
The PRODUCT of the Gospel is RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Are you ashamed of the Gospel of Christ? The writer of Romans stated, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ……..” Our attendance at the meeting this week will show how much importance we put in the gospel of Christ. Will you be here every night of the meeting? Will you join in with the songs and the prayers that are offered to glorify God? Will you open your Bibles and study along with the lessons that are presented OR will other world matters keep you from the Gospel meeting? The choice is up to each of us.
