Be of Good Courage

“Be Of Good Courage”

Many times in our lives there are situations that arise that require us as Christians to stand up and be strong.  We often hear people say, “That took a lot of courage,” or “they were very courageous in that ordeal.”  There are courageous acts being performed every day as people deal with illnesses, tragedies, or death in their lives.  As Christians, we have many reasons why we should be courageous when serving the Lord.  Think about your life and the following passages that let us know that as Christians we can be courageous in facing the trials and temptations of life.

YOU CAN BE COURAGEOUS BECAUSE:

You are a child of God.- I John 3:1-2  What a wonderful privilege it is to be called a child of God because you have obeyed his commandments.  God showers His love and His blessings upon His children.

You have the “Sword of the Spirit.” - Ephesians 6:17 Understanding that God has provided to us in His Word all that we need to know to enjoy life and overcome evil should be a comfort to all.

You are doing God’s will. – Daniel 9:4  To those who keep God’s commandments and do His will, He will keep His promises to show love and mercy to them.

You can resist the enemy and cause him to flee. - James 4:7- With God on our side, we can resist Satan and his messengers and cause them to flee from us in times of trials.

You can know that God will provide a way of escape- 1 Corinthians 10:13-  As Christians, we have the knowledge that God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear, but that He will also provide a way of escape.  The way of escape is there; We NEED to LOOK for it.

Christ is with you.- Matthew 28:18-20- Christ promises the Christian that He will be with him throughout the ages.

YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS YOUPhilippians 4:13- Jesus says that when we lean upon Him and use His strength, we can survive the ordeals that life brings our way.

So, the next time you find yourself in a difficult situation, trial, or temptation, remember that you can be courageous and strong with Jesus Christ by your side.
