Taking satan Seriously
“TAKING satan SERIOUSLY”
Just who is this fellow? Curious. Deceiving. Deadly. How seriously does mankind take this creature named satan? (BTW- I never give him any esteem by capitalizing his name as we do that of our Lord.) And how seriously do even Christians take him? I have seen those who claim to be Christians dress up like the devil at Halloween all in the name of fun. In someone’s home, I noticed a bobblehead of satan bouncing merrily away in their bedroom. I went to visit a Christian lady whose front porch was adorned with two large gargoyle statues.
Yes- satan is the horrifying being that wishes to torture the real you- burn your soul in hell forever and ever. Who knows what terrible things await those whose destiny is that fiery pit? Had Charles Manson murdered your children, would you have his bobblehead bouncing joyfully in your house? Yet satan is interested in far more than our puny body. He seeks our very soul- with temptation, half-truths and deception. He knows our weaknesses and he intends to exploit them.
Some day the door will close on our lives and we will come face to face with either our lord and Savior- or with a blood thirsty devil who is eager to begin an eternal horror-fllled, agonizing eternity for us. Don’t wait until then to realize his reality. Don’t wait until then to take him seriously.
