Do You Want to Have a Good Day?

“DO YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD DAY?”

It is as simple as getting up, getting out, and helping someone. While helping others, serving others, and going out of our way to do good unto others may sometimes be viewed as a nuisance, a hindrance, an inconvenience, or even an aversion, it is quite rewarding. In fact, doing good unto others is a reward in itself. When was the last time you went out of your way to help another without being asked, prodded,  “guilted”, or required to do so? When was the last time that you helped another brother or sister in Christ without any expectation or desire for something in return?

Jesus said in Luke 6:34-35, “If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.” “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great.”

When Paul considered all that he had given up, was giving up, and was going to give up for the good of his brethren, he concluded in Philippians 2:17, “Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.”

Do you want to have a joyful and good week? Get up, get out, and do a good deed for another? It will brighten their day and yours as well.
